Meet the instructor

yummy cartHello! I’m Angeli Sobrepena Del Rosario. I have been working with polymer clay for more than a decade.

I’ve been interested in crafts since I was a little girl, thanks to the influence of my mom Marilyn. I dabbled in many crafts as a kid – embroidery, crochet, sewing, beading – name it, I’ve probably tried it.

I rediscovered accessory-making when I was 17, when beaded adornment were enjoying a comeback. Enthralled with typical materials like seed beads and semiprecious stones, I would make stretchy bracelets and quirky necklaces for myself. But I soon got bored with the limited materials available in the market, so I explored different materials that would allow me to be more playful and adventurous with my designs.

Being a voracious reader, I usually spend hours in bookstores. On one fateful day in 2002, I stumbled upon a book about how to make your own beads from polymer clay. I was intrigued.

It took me six months or so before I could get my hands on this magical material. It took me another year to learn the craft. And 13 years after, I continue to try new things and discover something new.

Those many years of research, trial-and-error, and sleepless nights has equipped me with an arsenal of techniques and projects I would love to share with you!
